Hotel Ermitage

The single room was adorable and, I think, just right. It felt a bit like a college dorm, but had everything you could need, plus a fantastic view and a wonderful balcony.

My friend and I spent a weekend in Verbier and had an amazing stay. The location was immaculate, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the owner and staff were so lovely. We can only recommend this hotel!

A hotel needs to be reliable. If you can’t trust that there’ll be a room when you arrive, it has nothing. We had eight rooms confirmed, with emails reinforcing the booking, and the initial reservation was completed and confirmed many months before our trip from Australia. You’d reasonably expect Hotel Ermitage to honor that commitment. Instead, three months after the first confirmation, they somehow double-booked us and told me they suddenly had no rooms for our group of ten on the last night of our seven-night stay. It was unprofessional at best and cynical at worst. Management needs to get a grip and sort things out. What a complete shambles. We’ve moved elsewhere and won’t be back. Our group has absolutely no confidence in them, so booker beware.

We were there during the busy winter season, and the place was clean and cosy. Our room was small, but we made it work, and there’s a lift and a ski locker. Breakfast was really nice, too. The owners felt authentically Swiss, which we loved. For the price, it’s good value. We’d come back since we mainly want time in the mountains and a good night’s sleep.
