Valbella Resort

The place itself is very nice, but after paying more than CHF 700 for a weekend with meals, I expected things to be easier. We came as a family for one night, Saturday to Sunday, and chose the hotel after researching its child-friendly facilities. I booked a week ahead on their website at the standard rate of CHF 460, then saw the price was CHF 360 the day before our trip. There was no way to cancel and rebook at the lower rate. On arrival, we were taken to a room in another building, two minutes from the main one. I hadn’t realized when booking that the room would be separate. With a toddler, getting dressed and undressed for each trip takes time, and going back and forth for breakfast, dinner, the children’s facilities, pool, and spa could easily add up to an hour, before carrying towels and bathrobes around. It would’ve been less of an issue if the restaurant and children’s Lego room in our building had been open, but we were told they were closed for low season. Was the CHF 460 nightly price taking low season into account? Finally, our card stopped working right at 11 on Sunday, even though reception had said we could stay until 11:30. I went back and forth to reception three times while they tried to fix it, but the card still wouldn’t work.

The week went by in what felt like a minute, and we’d happily come back. At Valbella Resort, everything was well organized for a comfortable family holiday, with a cozy, clean feel and thoughtful details. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. The ski slopes are very close and easy to reach, a real plus when traveling with family, and everything else we needed was nearby too.

We’ve been coming for years, and the service, food, and overall experience keep being wonderful. It’s a great place for children, with the ski school nearby and kids’ activities that give parents a chance to relax. Adults can also enjoy a meal in a quiet restaurant. The location is great, and the food is excellent.

For my husband’s birthday, I brought him here for a little getaway, and we’d love to visit more often. The welcome from the team and all the employees was lovely, and there was a free drink buffet open on every floor. Our room had enough space, and the whole atmosphere felt thoughtfully put together. The tasting menu at the Capricorn restaurant on our last evening was another highlight. Really, everything was wonderful. Highly recommend!
