We could walk to everything we wanted to see, and the station was only about 5-10 minutes away. The restaurant food was really good, a fusion of a few different cuisines, as Sid put it, and the chef deserves credit. Sid and his business partner, the owners, were warm and treated guests more like friends. The restaurant staff were just as helpful and friendly. Our recently redone room was spacious and cozy, with a very comfortable bed and an antique Swiss ski feel. The balcony looked over the courtyard market on the weekend and the Christmas market on the water. Getting to the rooms takes a little getting used to: you enter through the Red Bird bar and restaurant, then head behind the bar. There’s no lift, so be ready for stairs. A lovely stay on Lake Geneva. Thanks again, Sid, from Canada.

The rooms are basic, but clean, which is exactly what I want. The team are so friendly, and they seem to care about doing things properly and enjoy their work. I love this sweet family run hostel and plan to come back. I can’t recommend it enough.

Right beside Lake Geneva, with a lovely view, and the restaurant serves fresh, delicious food. I had a wonderful stay at Hostellerie de Genève. The room was clean and had the basic amenities. The manager was kind, helpful, and accommodating, and the rest of the staff were courteous too. Definitely recommend!

The plaza view from our window and the balcony were lovely, and we never found the noise to be an issue, even though we faced the plaza. The bar downstairs, outdoor dining, antiques, old fashioned feel, and the back stairs up to the room all gave the hotel its own character. It’s not the Grande Hotel du Lac or the Marriott, and doesn’t try to be. We stayed nine days. The train station was about an 8 minute walk, and from there we went everywhere. Dinner was great. Breakfast was okay, though Vevey has plenty of choices.
