Villars Lodge

The garden is a peaceful, pretty place to sit, and the service was friendly and attentive. On summer Sundays they serve a Lebanese barbecue with different kinds of hummus, Lebanese bread, grilled meat, falafel and desserts. Definitely worth trying.

I’d happily stay here again. I spent five nights skiing and found the single room clean and comfortable, with fair value for the price, though it wasn’t very big. The shared toilets and bathroom stayed clean and were always free when I needed them. The shower was hot, and I never had to wait. The restaurant felt spacious and had a nice atmosphere. I loved the onion soup. Breakfast was good, but I think a hot item should be included at no extra cost. That small change would have earned five stars from me.

The crew were so welcoming and eager to help make our stay special. Thanks especially to Ombeline and her colleagues, they’ve given us a reason to return. We came for a ski weekend. The lodge is on the shuttle route and about a 5-10 minute walk from the lift. Our renovated room was quiet and had a nice view, and there’s a heated ski room too. We also really liked the bar and restaurant. The food was excellent, the ceilings very high, and the atmosphere lovely.

The room was comfortable, breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the stay. The bar and restaurant look modern and stylish. My one complaint is the noise around 11 each night when bottles were taken out. It was very loud outside our room and woke everyone. Once would have been manageable, but it happened every evening.
