Hotel Berghof Amaranth

Juliana gave us such a kind send-off when we left, with thoughtful gifts and warm words. She’d also welcomed us warmly when we arrived at night and helped us pick a room overlooking mountains covered in colorful autumn trees. The view was stunning. We spent three cozy, warm, relaxing nights at Hotel Berghof Amaranth. The hotel had a perfect getaway feel, and breakfast was fresh and delicious, with plenty of choice at the open buffet. We definitely plan to return and stay here again.

The receptionist on duty around 6 pm was especially helpful and kind, taking time to explain the area and suggest places to explore. Breakfast was excellent, and the location and mesmerizing views were great. The rooms felt cozy, though the rooms and fittings were a bit dated. That seems part of the rustic Swiss charm.

It’s very quiet and relaxing here, with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are small and old, but still cozy and comfortable, and there are great views. Breakfast was moderate, with good tea, coffee, and bread choices. Highly recommended.

I’ve stayed at more than 10 hotels in Switzerland, and this was by far my favorite. I spent two nights here and won’t forget waking up to breathtaking snow-covered mountains all around. It was a perfect base for my hikes around Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, and breakfast was amazing. The staff even gave me a little gift at checkout. I hope to come back soon.
