We’ve stayed at MatterhornGruess several times and loved it every time. It’s well placed between Zermatt center and the lifts, and the apartments are very clean and practical. There’s also a lovely outdoor area in front of the chalet where kids can play safely. We’ll definitely be back.

The location worked well for us: about a five-minute taxi ride from the train station, close to conveniences, and a scenic 10-minute walk to downtown. The fourth-floor apartment had Matterhorn views from the living room and dining area, plus three balconies. It was spacious, tidy, and very well maintained, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with a microwave, oven, stove, coffee machine, kettle, and toaster. The only small inconvenience was that the basement laundry machine wasn’t working, though the managers were easy to reach. We highly recommend it.

We stayed over Christmas week in 2020, my wife, our adult daughter, and me. The apartment was comfortable, with two bedrooms and bathrooms, balconies looking toward the Matterhorn, and underfloor heating. The kitchen had plenty of utensils for cooking in, and there were lots of TV channels in several languages. A supermarket, ski hire shop, good pizza restaurant, and the popular Paperlla Pub apres ski bar were all a short walk away. I’d highly recommend the apartment, and Benedikt and Madeline are very nice people.
