The landlord deserves special praise. We felt completely at home during our week with the family, and were glad our dog Lotte could come too. She settled in right away and loved the snow. The rooms have wooden floors, which I prefer to carpet, lovely big windows, and a bathroom each. We slept well and made good use of the balconies on both floors. The duplex has its kitchen and living area upstairs, a wood-burning stove, and a TV in practically every room if you want one. Firewood is downstairs by the front door. Getting into the village is easy enough, as are trips to the Fuchs bakery and Spar supermarket. It’s a few minutes downhill to the valley station, and the Winkelmatten bus stop is another fifty meters down the road. Lea kindly lent us a raclette grill, so we could enjoy cheese fondue and raclette on New Year’s Eve.
