Element Chalets

The chalet is right by the slope, and walking paths start there too. It’s spacious and has everything we needed, including a ski room, washing machine, dishwasher, well-equipped kitchen, sauna, and terrace. We brought our dog, and they had a dog bed, snacks, food, and water bowls ready. Lukas and Jessica were great to communicate with, and they sorted out anything we needed during our stay very quickly. The last stretch up to the chalet is quite steep, but Lukas helped us with our luggage going both up and down. Hennu Stal is within walking distance if you like après-ski. Zermatt center, with groceries and other things, is about a 15-minute walk, so you do need to be mobile. We usually don’t ski in the same place twice, but this chalet was amazing. We had a great time!

The ski-in, ski-out access was fantastic, and we loved our whole week at the Elements Chalet. Lukas was a wonderful, really helpful host. We’ll definitely stay there again when we’re in Zermatt.

Seven adults, family and partners, spent eight nights in Aqua, one of the four chalets. It’s on the “home trail” below the Glacier Express gondola. Being away from town gave us privacy, though it meant plenty of exercise when we went out for dinner. Grocery shopping and cooking at home were easy enough for us. There are four bedrooms, one downstairs with an ensuite and three upstairs, each with its own bathroom facilities. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, including a Nespresso machine, and some basic pantry items were provided. There’s also a sauna and drying room in the basement, with 100% ski-in/ski-out access. After our taxi from the train station, the hosts picked us, our bags, and groceries up. The cross-country path to the chalet needs some help getting up, and they used a motorized sled. It’s certainly on the pricey end, but per person it’s actually good value, especially considering the facilities. There’s room and privacy for a large family or four couples. The hosts were fantastic.

Zermatt itself was breathtaking, and The Elements Chalet was even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The ski-in, ski-out location made everything so convenient. Every part of the stay felt five-star. Getting there from the US was extremely long and difficult. I wouldn’t recommend arriving at night, since there’s a short hike to the chalet. Be prepared for a three-hour drive or a five-hour train ride, plus a few taxi trips, as cars aren’t allowed in town. Lukas is super helpful and friendly, and I’m sure he can advise you.
