The view of the Matterhorn was incredible, and Alain and Stephanie made our trip a really enjoyable experience. This clean, spacious chalet-style hotel is family-owned and run by the third generation, right in the heart of Zermatt near the restaurants and shopping. The front desk staff were sweet, informative, and helpful, and everyone was friendly. We'll definitely come back.

The small uphill walk from the train station is worth it for the view, though anyone traveling with older family or lots of bags on a warm day might find a taxi easier. Hotel AMBiANCE felt like a quiet retreat, central but set away from the crowds on Bahnhofstrasse. We stayed in the Junior Suite with Matterhorn view. It looked like the photos, but the balcony wasn't shown, and it was a lovely spot for early mornings or sunset alpenglow. Stephanie and Alain were wonderful hosts, and the family-run inn showed care in all the details. Breakfast had a good range for different tastes and dietary needs. After a day hiking, skiing, or doing other activities, the sauna and whirlpool were great for relaxing. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was fabulous, with everything we could want. The rooms were really large, and we had a perfect Matterhorn view from the window. We were warmly welcomed and treated so well, and the hotel was immaculate. A lovely place, highly recommend!

We were here for four days and three nights of skiing, and the hospitality was the best. It's a cozy, sweet, family-run hotel, about a 10-minute walk from the station, with taxis readily available. Book a taxi through the hotel and they'll give you a voucher. The first-floor ski room and storage room were handy, as were the sauna and outdoor hot tub. They even offered drinks while we were outside. My room was smaller than I expected, but I was on my own; with a partner I'd choose a larger one. The views were incredible, and the hosts were spectacular. I accidentally left personal items in the safe. By the time the hotel got in touch, I'd already left town, but they're shipping my things back to me in the States, which was very kind.

We had a spotlessly clean room, and the staff and owner were genuinely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make the trip memorable. The hotel has a warm, cosy, relaxing feel throughout. Its position slightly uphill from the center made it quieter, while still being convenient for reaching both the train station and cable cars. We couldn't find fault with our stay and would happily return. Just contact the hotel ahead of time if you'll arrive after 19:30, to make check-in go smoothly.
