We booked for March and had to cancel ten days ahead because of the war in UAE, but the hotel still refused to refund us. They didn’t respond on Booking.com either. When I called, they just said it was hotel policy. The woman on the phone, Martha, wouldn’t give me the customer service head’s email address. I can only judge their service from this, without even having stayed, and I’d tell people to save their money and not book here.

You’re just steps from the main street and very close to the train station, so the location is hard to beat. The room matched the pictures and was as advertised, which is why I gave it five stars.

The only real plus was the location, near both the station and town centre. Our first impression was poor: there was no front desk staff or anyone to greet us, just a small note directing guests to check in at another hotel’s lobby. The room’s furnishings and facilities were old. The beds seemed to have extra-bed frames and mattresses barely four inches thick, with poor support and squeaking whenever you turned over. For an international destination like Zermatt, there were no English channels on the hotel TV. Breakfast was very simple. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We really liked the breakfast service and the location is unbeatable, but our room was cramped. We were put in one of the long, narrow rooms with a 1:6 layout, instead of the standard 1:2 or 3:4 configuration most rooms had. There was nowhere to put luggage on the floor and still walk without jumping over our things.

The room was a good size, and the bathroom was huge, with a wow-worthy tub. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the reception staff were sweet. Breakfast was good by their standards; Indians used to cooked dishes may find it just okay. Great location very close to the station. Highly recommended.
