Movenpick Hotel Abidjan-Accor Group

The staff were warm and ready to help, and the rooms are roomy with useful equipment. Still, they feel dated and not well kept: even switches and connectors are coming loose. The air conditioning is loud, and there’s only water and tea in the room, no coffee maker or iron. Breakfast doesn’t have much variety for this level of hotel, the café was disappointing, and bar service dragged. There’s also a musty smell in the corridors, and despite the photos, no pool. It came across to me as a good 3-star superior or an average 4-star place, not a 5-star stay.

The location is a real plus, and the hotel was clean with very helpful staff. I did notice there’s no business center, and the Ramadan iftar was just average.

The staff responded quickly and were helpful overall. When I mentioned a smell coming from the shower tap, they sent someone straight away to fix it. I also had to ask for the sheets to be changed again after finding stains on the replacement set. Trays were left outside our room until midday after meals, and that brought some cockroaches, which I reported to the front desk. Those things could be improved.

There weren’t any bedsheets, though I did find larger towels. The room also had no bottled drinking water, so I decided to check out of that 5 Star hotel.
