We couldn’t find any sign of Residence Jireh. After checking out of my previous hotel, I went with the taxi driver to the location on the map and asked people nearby, but nobody knew of it. A house was close to where the map took us. The owner told us strangers keep coming to ask about “Residence Jireh,” and that he’s exhausted by the inquiries. I’m still trying to get my money back. I’d needed to stay an extra day in Abidjan, so I searched for a hotel on a popular booking app and booked this place. In my experience, Residence Jireh doesn’t exist beyond the internet. Watch out. The listings are always marked nonrefundable, and I believe this is a scam.

I spent almost one hundred dollars booking a room, then went around in circles with the Yango cab because we couldn’t find the place. As far as I could tell, it only exists on a map. These faceless people are scammers, so be careful before you get burned. I saw someone give it five stars a few weeks ago, and I think that’s part of the scheme. Don’t fall for it. Run.

The pool was nice, and the staff paid attention without overdoing the service. We booked for the night before our flight back to France. The room was a little dark, but perfectly adequate.

I won’t go there again, even for their services.
