The kayak trip around Muri lagoon was the highlight for us. At low tide the water was clear enough to spot colourful fish from the kayak, though I’d bring a snorkel and mask too. The kayaks at the property were really handy, and you can paddle along the beach to the resorts for a bite or a drink. Muri night markets and shops are an easy walk away as well. The villa was bigger than we expected from the photos. The water cooler and WiFi hotspot came in useful, and the shops at the end of the driveway were cheaper than NZ dairies. The bakery was excellent. It’s a great place right by one of the best beaches in Raro, and we’d love to stay again. Our host welcomed us in person, showed us how everything worked, then brought over a local potato salad dish the next day and checked that all was well.

We were really happy with the kayaks, and the accommodation was lovely. It was close to everything we needed, especially the beach.

Peter and Biola are very kind and do their best to meet your requests. I couldn’t work out the gas stove exhaust fan switch, and they showed me it just needed to be pulled toward me.
