Hotel Atalaia

A great base in Antofagasta, right by the beach and near a supermarket, gas station, stadium, and other attractions.

The hotel is small and pleasant, only steps from the waterfront. The neighborhood is quiet, although the historic center isn’t nearby; getting there isn’t difficult. My room and bathroom were spotless, which makes sense for a fairly new hotel, but both felt a bit small. There’s no desk space, so working on a laptop wasn’t comfortable, and the room felt bare and not very welcoming. The bed was fine, though the sheets were thin. Breakfast is simple but had what I’d normally order, including scrambled eggs and fresh orange juice, which felt like a nice extra at this price. They cleaned the room daily. The price seemed reasonable, but on work trips I’ve found better value for 40,000-50,000 pesos. Still, I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a no-frills stay.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the facilities were clean and well cared for. It’s in a quiet area close to the beach and other things to do, and the place felt truly welcoming.

We stayed just one night but felt at home. The owners were attentive to every detail, and the place was warm and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. The beach is only 100 meters away. Everything was perfect!
