Antucalhue

The owner really made the stay special. He kept the wood-fired hot tub ready, changed the water for us, and even found us coffee when we’d forgotten ours. He was kind, attentive, and shared some history of the place. The yurt is rustic, so you’ll need to keep it warm with the wood provided, but that’s part of the appeal. We stayed here during a ski trip, and the spacious yurt was a welcome change from the hotels and cabanas we’d been using. There was plenty of room for our gear after long days on the mountain. Sierra Velluda is right there in the view, and it’s only five minutes to the National Park entrance. The hot tub under the stars was magical. A cozy, authentic place with lovely hospitality and mountain scenery.

The property is beautiful and there’s plenty to see and do nearby. We enjoyed our small two-bedroom cabin, especially the woodstove, and liked the dogs. The proprietor was helpful without hovering. It’s close to the ski slope.

After hiking the Antuco volcano circuit, we were glad to have a comfortable bed and a hot tub waiting for us. My friend and I stayed at Cabanas for two nights, one before and one after the hike. The facilities and hospitality suited us perfectly, and the restaurant’s locally sourced food and wine were fantastic.
