Diego de Almagro Calama Express

On 4/21/24, I had an awful encounter with receptionist David. I came down on a Sunday after a long day working on my videos to ask for a cerveza. He said the restaurant was closed, then said I could buy one with cash, so we went to the fridge behind the counter. He told me to go around to the front. I said okay, but asked if I could point to the beer I wanted. He stared at me aggressively and insisted I had to move to the other side of the counter. Then he slammed the fridge shut and said he had changed his mind and wouldn't sell me one. I was shocked by the disrespect. I'm 68, retired from the USA, and have been traveling around South America on my motorcycle for a year and a half. I've never been treated this way at any hotel I've stayed in. I won't stay at any Hotel de Almagro chain hotel or recommend the chain if this is the kind of employee they hire. When I asked David's name so I could report him, he avoided answering and walked off. He only gave it to me after I filmed him with my phone. Terrible, terrible.

A nice, clean hotel in a small city with an interesting location.
