The photos really don’t capture how nice this place is. It looks recently renovated, with lovely wood and furnishings throughout. Every room has a balcony over the bay, and we even spotted a sea lion going by.

Yessica was a great host, always available, involved, and full of useful tips. We loved the decor, the well-equipped place, free tea and coffee, the comfy bed, and the magnificent terrace view. Tourist boats passed about every 30 minutes during the day, and we spotted a sea lion too. It’s a short walk to the city center. There were a few downsides: we could hear footsteps from the apartment above, which may just come with wooden palafitoes, the bathroom floor was very cold, and foreigners could only pay in cash. Still, we’d happily book again.
A spectacular spot to unwind.
Set above the sea in Castro Bay, this palafito house has an unbeatable view. The service felt warm and was magnificent. I also loved the elegant decor, which thoughtfully uses and respects Chiloé’s materials and craftsmanship.
Yessica is a genius, friendly and attentive, and always has current information about Castro and Chiloé Island. The place is warm, the bed is very comfortable, and the balcony looks out over a beautiful, calming sea view. You can walk to the market in a short time, with several restaurants nearby serving delicious food. There’s kitchenware, a hairdryer, and an electric kettle too. Great for a few relaxing days.
