The service really let the place down for what you pay. The accommodation was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned, and breakfast didn’t seem to account for the number of guests. Such a shame, because the place itself is very worthwhile: the rooms are large and bright, the beds are super comfortable, and the common area has a powerful heater. The showers have great pressure too.

The place has a quaint feel, and although it’s chilly, there is heating. We had trouble with the shower and had to fix it ourselves. Breakfast is brought to you, but you have to prepare it. It’s basic, though fine. Street-facing rooms are very noisy, and the curtains don’t block much light. Be careful booking through Booking.com or other platforms. You may pay more at checkout because taxes aren’t included in the listed prices, and they don’t tell you that.

The photos say a lot, but Valentina made the stay special. She greeted us with a smile and took plenty of time to explain what we could do on the island. On our second day, after making breakfast and helping me book our next hotel, she took us to the market and showed us a little path with views over Castro and its stilt houses. We also saw swans, sarapitos, dolphins... The place feels magical, and the view is breathtaking. I recommend it 100%!

A spectacular stay, with every detail just right and downtown Castro only steps away. The service was excellent, and sleeping on stilts made for an incredible experience!
