I'd happily come back, it was pretty much perfect. The WiFi was slow, though, and there were only two towels in the room with no washcloths, which is basically normal in chile. Also, water wasn't free, not even in the gym.

The tacos at the hotel restaurant were unforgettable, whatever variety you choose, and the restaurant was top-notch. Service was fantastic too. We showed up without a reservation, and they made a real effort to arrange the room just how we wanted. Thanks for everything! One small bit of feedback: some bottled craft beers from a local brewery that I tried at the hotel weren't great. Since they're artisanal, unpasteurized, and preservative-free, maybe there was an issue with keeping them cold. It's minor and doesn't take away from how spectacular the hotel and restaurant are.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the staff were generally friendly, but I wouldn't suggest this place for a family with babies. Parking is off-site, and having to give your name and room number each time you come or go is a hassle. The elevator was unreliable, with usually just one working, and the power went out when we switched on an iron. There isn't a closet, and the double room is very small. It seems set up for short stays, so I wouldn't stay more than one night.

I took off two stars because the room had no toiletries and one receptionist showed no interest in us, while clearly feeling unwell. The young man at the desk was very helpful, but he didn't speak English. Hilton can do better.

Hilton Hotel, Room 14001 We only stayed one night after a very long trip, hoping to get some rest and recharge. That didn't really happen. The room and facilities looked new and modern, and breakfast was good with plenty of variety. Those were the bright spots. Our room was on an upper floor, 12 or 14 and above, where the windows can't be opened for security reasons. It was 27°C (81°F) when we arrived. We tried setting the air conditioning to 19°C (66°F), but the room never got below 26°C (79°F), and stayed there all night. With no fresh air, it felt hot, stuffy, and completely still, almost like a vacuum or a dehydrator. The unit looked as if a "handyman" had installed it, and it didn't work properly. There wasn't much in the room: a bed, chair, table, TV, and a small refrigerator with no light. No kettle, either. We weren't asking for a coffee maker, just something basic. It was 34°C outside, and there wasn't even a bottle of water. The bathroom looked nice and new, but was sparsely equipped. After the shower ran for about a minute and a half, water started collecting until it overflowed and flooded the rest of the bathroom. Not pleasant. The toilet seat slammed shut without a soft-close mechanism. That may seem minor, but it would definitely wake a sleeping partner. We also had trouble with the bed. The mattress was extremely hard, an old-fashioned spring type, and left us with back pain for several days. The sheets rustled constantly, especially when we moved at night. We expected to rest, but kept running into uncomfortable details. Getting to our floor was another issue. We thought the elevator was broken when it wouldn't take us there. Only after going to reception did we learn that you have to use your room key card to select a floor. No one explained that at check-in, and there were no signs or instructions in or outside the elevator. We ate at the restaurant and ordered ceviche, tartare, and a Diavola pizza. The tartare was the smallest portion we've ever seen, about 85% avocado and 15% tuna, with no more than 20 grams of fish. The toast served with both the tartare and ceviche was stale and rock hard. The trio ceviche had fish that was completely "cooked" by the sauce. It clearly hadn't just been prepared, but marinated well beforehand. The Diavola was practically vegetarian or vegan, full of vegetables and missing the usual toppings, with none of the traditional Diavola qualities. When we pointed that out, the waitress just said, "Yes, it's the Diavola." We were exhausted and hungry, so we ate what they brought. We just wanted to rest. At first, after seeing the nice exterior, we joked, "We're off to a bad start." As they say, you can't judge a book by its cover, and the experience went downhill from there. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could, but since I can't, I'm leaving two. We wouldn't return. We were very disappointed, especially for a Hilton. This is exactly how it happened, without exaggeration.
