Hotel Alborada

The bed was really uncomfortable, and both breakfast and the service were a hassle.

Apart from being in the city centre, this was terrible. It was summer and over 30 degrees, but there was no air conditioning and the room was scorching when I arrived. They wouldn't give me a fan until I threatened to move to another hotel. I could hear rodents in the wall, and one night water started coming through the bathroom ceiling. Breakfast was tasteless, with soggy eggs and very few items to choose from.

I would never stay here again, and I can't recommend it. The place was disgusting, needed a lot of maintenance, and the parking area was embarrassing. There was no air conditioning, and we never managed to connect to the Wi-Fi. The front desk woman was very rude and didn't understand customer service. It took 40 minutes to check out while two very confused women tried to issue us an invoice. We booked through AAdvantage. She kept insisting she wanted to charge us because we didn't have our passports with us, even though the rooms were prepaid.

We stayed one night on the way to Pucon and the Lake district after a long international flight into Chile. It's not luxurious, but the basics were covered well and it was a comfortable place to sleep. The beds had lots of high-quality pillows, breakfast was great, and water and drinks were available at reasonable prices. Free parking in busy downtown Concepcion was a plus. Don't expect anything beyond the basics, but they do those well.
