The location worked well for me since I wanted to be closer to the city center, and I was pleased to get a high-floor room with a good view after being asked which floor I preferred. The bed was nice, and staff let me check in early, around 2 p.m. It would’ve been better to get in when I first arrived, but that was okay. The room was missing a few things, including a mini fridge and even an electric kettle. I might expect that at ibis Budget, but this wasn’t ibis Budget. The liquid soap and body wash were fixed beside the washbasin, so how are you meant to use them in the shower? The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly. There were several long hairs in the shower, on the floor, and around the washbasin, and they definitely weren’t mine. I ordered food at the restaurant, and it was ready in under 10 minutes. I guessed it was precooked and probably heated in a microwave.

The rooms are larger and more comfortable here, and there seem to be more staff around, so service is quicker and more helpful. Ibis Copiapó feels like a solid choice and a noticeably better stay than the Ibis Budget next door. The price difference isn’t that big, and there’s a bar and food available, which is handy after a long day. If you’re traveling solo or just want the cheapest option and don’t need those extras, the Ibis Budget will do the job. For a small difference in price, I’d pick Ibis Copiapó.

A practical stop for the night before continuing your trip the next day. The room has what you need and is very clean. The restaurant is flawless, though it closes early. There’s nice parking and an excellent buffet breakfast.

It’s right in the middle of everything, and you see lots of mountain climbers with their massive bags at any time. The staff are nice, breakfast is good, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower has plenty of hot water. The coffee is TERRIBLE, though, and that’s the only bad thing.
