We spent four days and three nights at Wara, surrounded by enormous sand dunes. It was sunny the whole time, and we had a quiet feeling of being alone out in nature. Apparently the area stays sunny and isn't affected by rain that may fall in northern San Pedro, so it seems a good choice if you're after warm weather. The hotel itself is incredible. Its clay and reed architecture fits naturally into the setting, and the rooms are both comfortable and cosy, each with a private terrace. At night, staff light a fire in the room, a lovely way to wind down after the delicious food and wine. There are plenty of ways to spend your time: staff can help arrange a picnic in the dunes, stargazing there with a telescope, walks around the region, or a day trip to Wara Nomades, their new hotel project on the beach. You can also just lounge by the pool with homemade cocktails or juices. This place felt magical, and I hope I can come back. I really recommend it :)

The excursions let you see the treasures of this preserved region. We spent a day at the beach and got to see Wara Nomades, their newest project, a glamping hotel on the beach that will open in September. Another night, we went out into the dunes for the stargazing experience, with wine and snacks for an apéro while watching the stars. Wara is a small, peaceful hotel among the sand dunes, and we were so taken with it that we wished we could have stayed longer than our three nights and four days. The staff made us feel at home, and the decor is lovely, with local materials and ethnic touches like colourful wool woven rugs. The pool area is great, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable, and the food and wines are delicious and top quality. It’s one of the most wonderful places I’ve ever visited. I’d highly recommend going and trying the experiences they offer!

The food was amazing, and the atmosphere had good vibes. I came for lunch and also got to tour the rooms. It’s an expensive hotel, but it seems worth the price, with a resort-like feel.

The staff are friendly and authentic, and the hotel’s design has its own character, mixing modern and traditional elements. A cosy place, definitely worth a second visit, this time for business only.
