We spent five nights at Cabañas Vaiora over Christmas break, with our group of five split between two suites, one with two upstairs bedrooms and the other with one downstairs bedroom. The rooms had all the things we needed, including soap, towels, kitchenware, pots, and pans, and we found the beds and pillows very comfortable. I’d worried about the lack of air conditioning, but the fan turned out to be enough. The chickens and dogs on the property could be heard in the morning, so sleeping late was difficult. The location worked well, about a 15 minute walk to central Hanga Roa and five minutes to nearby restaurants, the church, and the souvenir market. The hosts were amazing and went out of their way to help us enjoy the island. Silvia gave us free rides to and from the airport, and drove us into town when we couldn’t find a taxi. She organized our island tour, provided a rental car and clean water, and even did our laundry for an extra fee. I highly recommend Cabañas Vaiora, and wouldn’t stay anywhere else on my next trip to Easter Island.

We rented a car from the hosts and it worked perfectly. The service was always friendly and helpful, too. The cabins are comfortable and kept spotless, and the peaceful setting makes it easy to completely switch off. The patio is gorgeous, full of flowers and trees, including guava, mango, and banana.

We had a lovely stay and were greeted with flower leis. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook at our own pace, and daily housekeeping kept the place clean and well aired. It’s a calm, family-friendly spot surrounded by lush greenery, with a real island feel. Definitely recommend it.
