Tauraa Hotel

Wolfgang’s warmth made a real difference. He greeted us when we arrived, then smiled each morning as we left for tours and told us to “just have fun.” That kindness made the trip memorable. The hotel is charming and quaint, right in the center of everything. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and you could taste the care that went into it. The staff also made things easy by booking the activities we needed. I highly recommend staying here.

Wolfgang made my short visit much more relaxing and meaningful by taking care of so much. I only had 2 1/2 days, and he arranged excellent small tours to help me make the most of them. Emilia at Hotomatur tours, whom he recommended, was excellent too. They both went out of their way to help, and I feel lucky to have met them. My Easter Island trip wouldn’t have been nearly as good without them. I’ve been to 46 countries, and this is the warmest, most helpful place I’ve stayed. There was a lovely tropical feel, with decor and landscaping that suited the island. I’d heard great things about Tauraa hotel, its location, breakfasts, and helpful staff, but the reality surpassed my expectations. Wolfgang arranged airport pickup with a sign bearing my name and a beautiful flower lay. When I arrived, I was welcomed with a delicious drink.

Wolfgang was great about helping with my plans. After hearing what I had in mind, he suggested a few things and even arranged a guide for a half-day tour at the last minute so I’d be well looked after. I had a great stay. The room and breakfast were decent, and the hot shower worked well.

The service was attentive, and the breakfasts are the kind you remember. The town center is about a 7 minute walk away. If you’re visiting Rapa Nui, Tauraa Hotel is a must.
