Don Ramón, the caretaker, is a wonderful person, very kind, and really makes this place stand out from others. It’s a great spot for relaxing and connecting with nature, with direct sea access and close to tours and the beach. I recommend it a thousand times over!

The cabins are in a prime spot, with direct access to the sea and close to places for maritime expeditions. They also have their own dive center. The owners are warm and attentive, and we’ll definitely be back ☺️.

The biggest problem was how we were treated when we arrived. The person who received us was incredibly disrespectful, telling my family that it was our fault for not paying for the second cabin. We explained that we’d been told to pay for one first and the second on arrival. She denied it, even though they’d said exactly that on WhatsApp, as the photos show. Then she brought up Airbnb, although we never booked through them. All communication and payment were directly through WhatsApp, following their rules. My mother was made out to be a liar in front of our family, who had come from another country and planned the whole trip for a good time. There were seven of them, all elderly. When we showed the WhatsApp conversation about paying in two installments, she had no answer and said the platforms had gotten mixed up. I don’t know what their problem was, but the way they handled it was awful, especially since their poor organization caused it. They’d called us while we were on the way to say they’d made a mistake: the people who were supposed to leave that day hadn’t, so only one cabin was available. They said they’d try to find another with the neighbors and apologized. I agreed and asked them to find one since we had everything ready and it was their mistake to solve. We’d rented two cabins, but when we arrived, only one was available. The second cabin they found was far from the first, so our family decided to make do in one. The other option was a room for $45,000 per person. The whole thing went wrong. When I made the reservation, I’d asked whether the deposit covered the full amount, and they said to deposit for one cabin, then pay for the second on arrival. I transferred the money as requested. I’m posting photos as evidence. You can be told one thing on the phone and another in person. They treat customers badly, show no respect, and won’t take responsibility for their mistakes, even when they set the payment rules. Terrible service. If I could, I’d give them ZERO! DON’T GO TO CABAÑAS REFUGIO HUMBOLDT, go somewhere else. There are nicer places further down the road with good service.

The cabins’ best feature is their location right on the beach. They have the essentials, but the building is old and needs maintenance. When we arrived, the person in charge wasn’t informed, although they were very helpful.
