The staff are kind, and there's a fully equipped kitchen for guests who want to cook. It's a pleasant place, though it could use some paint and repairs. Prices are lower than at hotels, possibly because no food service at all is provided.

The pool is big and comfortable to use, and the spacious areas work well for a group. But some basics need attention for these prices, even allowing for summer rates. The shower head should be decent, the water temperature suitable, and liquid soap provided. Water pressure is nearly absent at the shower and sink, though a little better at the dishwasher. The pillows are hard, the curtains let light in and block the view, and the toilet seat keeps coming loose and presses against your back when you sit.

Johan, the night concierge, was very kind and helpful, and we're extremely grateful to him. The location is handy for getting around La Serena and reaching different points of interest. We visited this wonderful place many years ago, but now it feels quite dated. Essential things such as the kettle, hairdryer, dishes, pots, sheets, towels, mattresses, and pillows could all do with being replaced.
