Hotel Baviera

The staff are some of the nicest and most well educated I've met. It's a beautiful, quiet little German village, with good food and a genuine sense of tranquility. There were political and criminal problems here in the past, but that is history now. Those responsible were tried and convicted, and people here today are working hard to make a living.

The hotel and rooms feel like they came straight from the 70s, but they're clean and comfortable. WiFi was poor. It's a curious place with a horrendous history. The current owners don't hide the past, while running a friendly hotel and restaurant in a stunning location.

The food is great, especially the bio-beer and bratwursts. Everything is well cared for, but I found it unsettling to think about what happened there and how little it is acknowledged. They aren't secretive about the history, yet there's no plaque or monument addressing it. I still felt eerie about the place.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff are absolutely friendly. You can take a history tour with a survivor from that time, and people are open to sharing stories about life here if you want to hear them. I know many people struggle with the village's history, but the residents are trying to make the best of it and of the terrible things that happened.
