The location was the only real positive for us. Breakfast was okay, though it could have been better, and the rest of the stay left us feeling stressed when we had booked for a relaxing break. The minibar was locked until we paid a deposit, which could only be paid by card or cash. The sauna was limited to one hour a day and had to be booked, while using the pool required buying a swimming cap. I don’t think this hotel deserves five stars.

Pucón is beautiful, and the hotel has a great location, but the place feels dated and more like a three-star hotel. We were told the casino was part of the hotel, yet getting in required presenting legal identification. That was frustrating after our documents had already been scanned at check-in. Foreign guests need to bring their passports, which doesn’t feel safe. Better communication would have helped.

The location is fantastic, the staff were great, and the food was good during our two nights in March. But the place needs renovation, and the carpets were dirty. It took ten minutes for the shower water to get hot. There were no in-room tea or coffee facilities, either. When I called reception, I was told room service could bring a jug of boiling water, but it doesn’t open until 7 am. So no early coffee, and no afternoon tea unless you arrange it that way. What a joke. There are better places to stay.

You get a beautiful view whichever way the room faces, either across the lake or toward the volcano on the other side. The hotel is in a stunning spot at the lake’s edge, with good food and friendly service. A very nice place to stay.
