Hostal Treile

It’s beautiful here, and I wish I’d stayed longer. There’s even a little glass-clear river running through the front yard. The owners are absolutely wonderful, and the place is cleaned around the clock. It’s also so cheap. This is the best place I’ve stayed in during six months of traveling through Central and South America, a luxury hostel.

The big patio was a great spot to relax and spend time with people. The owner and volunteers were so kind and made us feel at home, and the hostel was spotless, welcoming, and in perfect shape. It’s clear they take good care of the place. Hostal Treile is only a few minutes from downtown Pucón, but the setting is quiet and surrounded by nature. Highly recommended! 🙌❤️

The supposed owner was incredibly rude, and the whole experience was awful. While we were having breakfast, she started cleaning with bleach. We said it was in very poor taste, and she kicked us out without any empathy, even though it was peak season and we'd have to find and book somewhere else that same day. She showed no self-awareness or customer service skills. The appropriate complaints have been filed. Her behavior was rude and disrespectful, and completely unacceptable.

We were out exploring during the day, coming back covered in dust from trekking and other activities, so a hot shower was a basic need for us. We paid for a place to sleep and hot water, nothing more, and that’s why I’m leaving this review. The first day, I could shower and use the facilities, but on the second night and last morning there was only cold water. I waited several minutes and asked other guests, but none of us could get hot water. My brother ended up showering cold. I finally messaged the hostel on WhatsApp, and they replied around noon. It was strange that nobody was there to help guests. I stayed two nights, and whoever is in charge should be attentive to essentials like a hot shower.
