The walls are thin enough that you might hear the people next door, and the Wi-Fi can be unreliable.

The triple room felt a little cramped, but the beds were excellent. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was very good.

They served a variety of food for our meeting, lunch, and dinner. The service and preparation were excellent.

The hotel itself has a lot going for it: it looks lovely, feels like good value, has spotless beds, nice pillows and good heating, and the staff are friendly and hospitable. But the restaurant experience was bad enough that we decided to leave and rent a cabin with a kitchen, despite those positives. The local women who own Cabañas Chofita seem happy doing their work and are friendly. Breakfast was the problem. I asked for a table for one, even though the tables were already set with everything they offered, and the waiter said he couldn't seat me. The TV was blaring ads, which was especially irritating when I wanted to relax and listen to the wind in the south. He was also on his phone with the volume up and no headphones. I asked him to lower it; he did so reluctantly, and I still felt too uncomfortable to relax. The second piece of whole wheat bread on my plate was just the crusty top of the loaf, the bit people usually discard because it protects the bread. When I asked for a replacement, he grudgingly brought white bread. I said I only eat whole wheat, and he got angry before bringing another plate and dropping it on the table on top of the first one without clearing it. I had to carry it back to the bar, where he was sitting with his phone loud again. It was absurd. I've never been treated this badly in a hotel restaurant, especially one that isn't cheap. Even at La Piojera, the service is more considerate. It felt like a lack of professionalism and training. Chilean hotels have a lot to improve, and I can see why people choose to leave the country. I suspect some young waiters have little interest in their jobs and might even spit in food if someone complained. Sence has free courses for employers to use.

We had excellent service at A Modo mío Restaurant. The El Fiordo pizza was really delicious, with smoked salmon and crab sauce.
