Hotel Ilaia

Juanita’s included breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the bed was really comfortable. Everyone working there was so welcoming and kind, and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable too. A one-of-a-kind little gem in Punta Arenas. Highly recommend!

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms and premises felt very basic, almost like a hostel. There’s little parking, no TVs, and the walls are thin. Worst of all was the shower: it’s tiny and has no curtain or door, so water gets everywhere however you angle the shower head. There’s only one bath mat, and after showering your feet get wet if you need to use the toilet. Seriously awful design. 🤯🙈🤦🏽‍♀️

We loved the breakfast, from the fresh orange juice and fruit with yogurt, granola and stewed raspberries to the warm bread and chapattis with avocado and fresh cheese. The hotel has a peaceful feel, and the staff are warm, kind and helpful. It’s a pleasant 10-minute walk downtown, and there’s coffee, tea and fruit in the lobby. We watched the sunrise with coffee in the glass room on the top floor. They also recommended a restaurant we enjoyed and made the reservation for us. We’d highly recommend staying here.
