The little courtyard is a nice touch, with flowers, potted plants, tables and seats, plus a big professional BBQ that looked spotless and possibly unused. There are small shops next door and around the corner for basics like bread, eggs, meat, fruit, vegetables, yogurt and ice cream. It’s about a 10-minute drive from San Pedro de Atacama’s center, with plenty of free parking. We got there early, and Juan, the owner, showed us to a room with its own small fridge, which was handy for keeping things cool. The private bathroom was separate from the room, with a very hot shower and free toiletries. The main downside was the dogs nearby. A lot of them started barking in the late afternoon and kept going for hours into the evening.
