What made the stay special was the warm, attentive staff. Constanza especially won us over, what a wonderful person! Everything else worked well too: the facilities were clean and comfortable, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple, nicely presented, and had something for every taste. The pool is on the small side, but perfectly fine in the driest place on earth. Complimentary bikes are available as well.
The hotel has a lot going for it: it’s right in the centre of San Pedro, which is very convenient, and the rooms and shared spaces are beautiful. Breakfast was very good, and staff were generally kind, helpful, and quick to respond. Still, the maintenance work seriously disrupted our stay. Repairs continued the whole time, the pool couldn’t be used at all, and one day we couldn’t even use our room after breakfast because work was happening inside. We weren’t clearly told about any of this in advance, so it felt like we’d paid full price for a hotel that was only partly available. Checkout left the worst impression. We had an evening bus to the airport, and the hotel kindly let us stay in the shared areas during the day. But just before we left for the bus, staff confronted us about towels lent to us for a tour. They had all day to ask, but waited until the last moment and made an already rushed departure stressful and awkward. We’re confident the towels were taken during cleaning, yet we were made to feel at fault as we hurried to catch the bus. This could be a great hotel, but poor organization around the repairs and checkout left us with a bad final impression.
Pascual Andino is a peaceful oasis amid the bustle of San Pedro De Atacama. The grounds and accommodation are beautiful, with a small pool, shaded seating, a separate breakfast area, and a cool room with enough space. We had a lovely private outdoor spot to sit and look at the stars. The staff are the real stars: Constanza, Anne, and Tomas were friendly, funny, kind, and so helpful. Night staff, kitchen staff, and housekeeping were welcoming too, always smiling. Highly recommend it, we’ll be back!
I wouldn’t book here if you expect compassion or good customer service. I needed emergency surgery in the UK before my South America trip and told the hotel what had happened. Even though I provided doctors’ letters saying I couldn’t fly and gave more than a month’s notice so they could resell the room, they refused a refund. I delayed cancelling right away because I hoped they’d reconsider. Instead, they threatened to charge me more if I didn’t cancel and simply became a no-show. That added stress while I was already dealing with my health. From previous reviews, it seems this may have happened before. Very poor customer service.
With comfortable rooms and a private balcony, this place felt like an oasis in the desert. The hotel is quiet and tranquil, yet shops and restaurants are an easy walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was included and great, and there’s a lovely outdoor seating area for enjoying the San Pedro de Atacama weather. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.
