ByC Santiago Apart Hotel

My flight was due into Santiago around 7:00 p.m., and I was supposed to be able to check in at 2:00 p.m. Instead, when I arrived at the hotel, they had no record of my reservation. The maid was on vacation, and the replacement knew nothing about it. I contacted Despegar to sort it out, but they couldn’t reach the hotel owners either. They told me to find somewhere to spend the night with my husband and my young son’s suitcases. Searching for a place to rest was a terrible experience. I went back to the hotel at noon the next day and found they had left me the room access code. Despegar later told me that the people responsible for Byc Apart Hotel said I should spend every night at the hotel, which wasn’t true. Don’t be fooled if you’re planning to stay here. They’re liars, and they ruined my vacation. Shame there’s no zero rating. Scammers.

The location is convenient for shopping malls, but we had a terrible experience. On one day, the room was found open repeatedly, and the door’s security locks were broken. Nobody accepted responsibility. We were told to prop a chair against the door until the next day, but the person in charge never came. Given those conditions, we had to change hotels. Despegar is handling the refund of the money we transferred, but who will make up for the worry and that awful night? A disaster, especially on our first visit to the country.

The location is good, but the service is poor.
