Casa Mosaico Hostel

We had a private room and bathroom, and the rate included breakfast. The breakfast area was good, the staff were very nice, and the place was quiet and well located. We stayed in May 2019, and would definitely book here again when we return to Santiago.

The morning receptionist was the one bright spot: she was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was meager, with ham that you had to ask the front desk to replenish, and instant coffee. We’d booked a private room with the bathroom outside it. The room faces the main street, so without earplugs, sleeping at night is out of the question. The bathroom was so tiny I couldn’t stretch my legs while on the toilet, and the shower wouldn’t drain. It was never fixed.

The rooms are clean and mine was quiet, and for the price and location it’s a good deal. The bathrooms were clean too, but the showers weren’t. Maria, the woman on the day shift, is awesome, always smiling and full of good energy. She spent a lot of time telling me what to see in Santiago and how to get around.

Very friendly people, and the shower was nice. It’s basic, but really has what you need. Breakfast is very simple, though that’s what you’d expect for €40 for a double room. I’d recommend it if you’re on a budget.
