Four Points by Sheraton Santiago

The room was clean, and housekeeping did a good job every day. Staff were nice, and the location worked well. Breakfast was pretty modest for a Sheraton, but it covered the basics and was enough. I’ve only got good things to say and would recommend staying here if you’re visiting Santiago.

We stayed four nights in early December, and I was torn between giving this one or two stars. The location was quite nice, near attractions, malls, and restaurants, and the room itself was adequate, though showing some wear. Breakfast was bland to us. Service was mixed: a few employees were great, while others seemed to be going through the motions. There was Bonvoy advertising everywhere, but I felt there was no recognition of us as members. We’ll pass next time. A couple of nights before arrival, the hotel sent a polite email offering services and support for Gold members. We wrote back to ask about transport options since we hadn’t been to Santiago in a while, but never heard back. When we arrived at 10:30 pm, our first room had no bath towels or water and had empty packaging left by an earlier guest. It clearly hadn’t been prepared. They moved us, but the next room had an electrical problem: plugging a phone charger into the bedside outlet shorted out most of the room. It was never fixed. On the third day, we got a letter blaming the charger, which was odd since it worked in other outlets in the room, at many other hotels, and at home. The front desk manager came over, introduced herself, and apologized. She offered a late checkout, which we didn’t need and were entitled to as Gold members anyway.

My room was old, and there was mold in the bathroom. The service was poor too. I raised a small problem and they made no attempt to help. Room service barely had anything listed on its menu, and since the phone didn’t work, I had to go downstairs to the restaurant to place an order. What a letdown. I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

The rooms are a little dated, though roomy and comfortable. Service was friendly and available around the clock.
