The price and location make this a great hostel, and it could easily be five stars with a kitchen cleanup and a little more effort from the volunteer staff to chat. Sometimes we felt like we were in someone else's space. The welcome was mixed, about half the volunteers were friendly and half weren't.

We had a nice stay, and the staff were quite welcoming. The private room was very small, and having five keys to get into the hostel and rooms seemed excessive, lol, though it wasn't a big issue.

The pickup and drop-off both went smoothly, and communication was good, with quick replies whenever we had questions. We rented the van for 30 days and drove over 6000 km from Santiago to Punta Arenas without any issues. It had everything for cooking, very comfortable camping chairs, and great thick blankets. It's in a lively neighborhood with a super convenient location for getting to other places. The hostal has almost all the amenities you need :) Highly recommended 🫶🏻

The common areas were good, and staff generally spoke English. I think most of them were traveling volunteers. In the dorm, the beds were nice, with a power socket, light, shelf, and curtain for each. Lockers fit small bags, but not a rucksack. The room got stuffy despite a small opening window, so it could use more ventilation. I can imagine the toilets getting busy if the hostel were fuller.
