We loved the modern decor in both the hotel and our room, and the bed was comfortable with a hot shower. We stayed at Ismael Hotel for three nights. On our first night we arrived very late, but the front desk greeted us efficiently. The free buffet breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit and eggs. The hotel sits beside a green park in a safe area, close to good restaurants and shops. One of my photos shows the view from our room. We loved Santiago and enjoyed our stay at Ismael hotel.

The staff made us feel welcome right away, and Marcelo was especially kind. We arrived around 10:30 a.m. and asked politely if early check-in might be possible. They let us in at no extra charge, and Marcelo even invited us to have breakfast that morning. That kind of welcome really stood out. Breakfast was fantastic, and everyone we met was pleasant and often went out of their way to help. On our last day, they also let us check out late without charging extra. We felt so comfortable there that leaving made us a little sad. Thank you to Marcelo and the whole team for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to come back!

We had lots to explore on foot, with parks, museums, and the metro all a short walk away. Sky Costanera was five metro stops away, and Viña Cousiño Macul Vineyard was an easy metro trip. The hotel staff were great. The front desk helped with directions and suggestions, and breakfast was good. The coffee and espresso were as good as or better than at the many Cafes nearby.

The rooftop terrace has excellent views, and there’s a nice little pool. The hotel is centrally located, about ten minutes from the metro. Our room was clean and spacious, with a coffee maker, two coffee capsules, and a small bottle of water. A few maintenance issues were disappointing. The tiny balcony door wouldn’t shut fully, so traffic could be heard at night. One bed squeaked badly with every movement, and the glass bathroom door was missing its bottom track. Breakfast was fairly plentiful, including sliced fruit, though the coffee, as is common in Chile, wasn’t made with a real espresso machine. Staff were friendly, but check-in was set for 3 p.m. and couldn’t happen even a minute early. We actually got in about ten minutes later. They were probably still finishing the cleaning. Even so, it’s a very good hotel in a good location.

Marcelo at reception really stood out. The service felt thoughtful in the dining area and especially at the front desk. So many helpful touches made our group of eight from the States, Chicago and New Mexico, have a smooth visit.
