Hotel Sommelier

I'm really frustrated. I had to cancel because I don't have a Chile visa and asked for a refund, but they're still charging me. They don't seem to understand my situation, and it's crazy that they care so much about the money when I'm losing mine. I have to post everywhere 😡

The city center location is handy, with the metro 5-7 minutes away, and my room was acceptably clean. But the bathroom had scum on the tiles, a sink that clogged the first time I washed my hands, and shampoo and body wash pumps with grime around them. Their cracked tops wouldn't close properly. The towels were clean but so worn and threadbare they were barely fit for foot towels. The A/C didn't work well, though luckily Santiago cools down at night. Breakfast was scant. I hadn't expected it to be included, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I found it funny that they had a full-time person rationing out the food at the bar. She must have cost more than the breakfast itself 😂. One lamp in my room short-circuited and kept flashing. I couldn't sleep until I figured out where it was coming from and unplugged it. Definitely a fire hazard.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and quiet, thanks to modern double-pane windows. The staff were very helpful, and our rate included a pretty good breakfast buffet at the rooftop restaurant. The hotel is associated with Underaga Wines, and there were wine glasses in the room but no corkscrew. The front desk had one.

The location was great, with dozens of bus lines, a metro stop less than five minutes away, a big supermarket, and plenty of restaurants nearby. My large room had strong wifi, a comfy bed, a kitchen table, a small fridge, and dishes. Breakfast was included and was ok. I really enjoyed my stay.
