The staff made us feel welcome and were great with maps and suggestions for places to eat and drink. We spent several nights at Mito Casa and had a really enjoyable stay. Our room was neat and very clean, and the bathroom had a nice hot shower. The building dates to the 20s and has an Art Deco look, with some original details still there. The parquet floor creaks a little, which adds to its charm. It's a ten-minute walk to the downtown area with the main shops and museums. If you want the standard ibis or Hilton style, with magnolia everywhere and every modern convenience, this probably won't suit you.

The 24-hour staff are very friendly and speak English. When my passport was stolen recently, they supported me, printed the documents I needed for the embassy, and stayed with me for moral support late into the evening. Thanks Francisco! The hotel is my favorite among the ones I've tried around Baquedano station in Providencia, Bella Vista, and Bellas Artes. It's an unusual find on the main street, Av Providencia, right beside the subway. Even so, the stylishly renovated four-story building feels tucked away and secure, with a pleasant garden, well-done bathrooms, and comfortable lobby and breakfast spaces. Breakfast is included and has brewed coffee and eggs cooked to order.

We never got to stay. Street marches blocked our way to the hotel, and they didn't contact us about the situation before charging us anyway. The customer service was really bad. Don't book here.
