Hotel Panamericano

Great location and such lovely people at reception. The rooms vary a lot in size and quality: 611 was great, 610 was less good, and 507 really wasn’t pleasant. Breakfast is limited, and neither particularly fresh nor tasty.

Most of the breakfast food was already gone by 9, even though breakfast runs until 10:30. They simply stop topping it up. Also, the cleaning lady came into the room despite the “don't disturb” sign.

Three single beds in one room made this a great-value stay for the three of us. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the location was perfect. Everything else worked well, and I’d still recommend staying here. A few small things kept me from giving it five stars. The curtains didn’t close all the way, so even with blackout curtains behind them, we woke early. The windows also raised a privacy concern because the building opposite was so close and they wouldn’t shut completely. We managed to hold the curtains together with a chair against the wall. The bathroom drawer also refused to stay closed, which was a bit annoying.

We arrived at 12:40 am after the previous four places we tried had no rooms, and they were very accommodating. The rooms feel modern and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good with a nice range of choices, including lactose-free milk, a blessing for those of us who are lactose intolerant. The only snag was the Wi-Fi: a bit slow in the room, but fast and reliable elsewhere.
