Solace Hotel Santiago

Solace Hotel made our Santiago trip memorable. The rooftop views are amazing, and the lounge area is such a relaxing spot. It’s hard not to take photos up there. The location also made it easy to visit San Cristóbal Hill, shop at Cenco Costanera, and get to the metro. The staff were focused on customer service, and most spoke great English. The front desk arranged a late-night airport transfer and kept our bags on checkout day. We also had a favorite waiter at the rooftop bar, who was a great server and conversationalist. My favorite feature was the free latte and coffee machine in the lobby. We used it a lot! I tried to book Solace for the start of our trip, but it was full. I’m glad we managed to stay at the end. We definitely saved the best for last.

The staff were friendly, but their English was very limited. The location is good and feels safe, with lots of nearby cafes for breakfast if you don’t want to pay at the hotel. The rooms smell, and the toilet took four attempts to flush even after I complained three times. The pool area feels dated, and the pool is cramped and only waist deep.

The rooftop bar and restaurant have a nice view of town, and the service there is excellent. There’s also a pool up top. The hotel is right in the heart of Providencia, with spacious rooms and accommodating staff. They offer a very professional private shuttle to and from the airport. A top choice if you want to relax while exploring Santiago.

The location is excellent, but the street is closed with no through road because of construction, and trucks often block it. I found the advertising misleading: I booked a mountain-view room, then was told one wasn’t available, and the check-in staff seemed indifferent about fixing it. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and patchy in both my room and on the roof. I also didn’t like having only a sheet over the mattress. I wouldn’t sleep that way on my own bed, let alone one used by hundreds of other people. The rooftop is nice, though small, with limited shade, and it can get very busy. The pool is for laps and is no more than 1.2 meters deep.
