Viva Hostel

The bedrooms and bathrooms were dirty, and the blankets had stains and cigarette burns. The only reason I gave it a second star was Emily. She was the only woman working there and, to me, the best person on the staff.

It's a fairly new-looking hostel and the price is budget-friendly. Breakfast is included, though some of the staff could be more efficient.

The location, about four blocks from patio Bellavista, is the one good thing. There are better hostels nearby, so I wouldn't recommend this place. Our room was filthy. There was trash on the floor, dirty bedding, and the bathroom bin was full of paper in plain view. The hostel employee told us there'd be no cleaning and no chance to move to a clean, tidy room. The next day we were promised a clean room, but nobody cleaned it or explained what happened. Breakfast was a joke, there wasn't even coffee or anything to put on the bread. When we left, the employee was sleeping so deeply they couldn't wake up to open the door. A terrible experience.

The bathroom was filthy and only on the second floor, which was really inconvenient. My bed was uncomfortable, with an old mattress, and the place is expensive for what you get. The hostel is in terrible shape. It feels like nobody takes care of the property or the guests, and the high price comes with no interest in upkeep.
