The heater worked and the water pressure was good, but the bathroom tiles were grimy, the linens were thin and grey, and the towels looked dull. Taltal doesn't offer many choices, yet this was my first bad experience in Chile. A humble place still has no excuse for being dirty.

The staff were very attentive, and breakfast was very complete. It was a comfortable stay, though the shower took a long time to get hot the first time. If your room is close to the dining room, you can hear quite a lot from it.

The room was good, but the price wasn't cheap, and there was no hot water the night I stayed. Breakfast felt limited too, and it wasn't self-service. I also wanted to heat dinner in the microwave in the breakfast area that evening, but the receptionist wouldn't let me use it.

The staff were very attentive, and the restaurant lady was quick and friendly when we arrived late for dinner. There was good on-site parking. But the bathrooms were neglected, and the room smelled musty until we turned on the air conditioning to air it out. They charged us like it was a four-star hotel, though it left a lot to be desired. I was told this is the only option in town if it's very late and you need to sleep before moving on. It felt like a place for people just passing through. Breakfast wasn't fresh, and the coffee was instant. I'd only stay if there really were no other options.
