Hotel Best Western Ferrat

The place was okay, but there was very little room for large luggage. I found it inconvenient that reception didn't answer either the hotel phone or the number listed on Google, so I had to go downstairs with my questions. I told the receptionist I'd been calling, and we tested it by calling while standing in front of her. She didn't apologize or seem concerned that their phone wasn't ringing.

There was plenty of shopping nearby, and the service was excellent and friendly. The staff gave us complimentary drinks at the bar and recommended a restaurant for our anniversary dinner. When we got back from a wonderful meal, a special treat was waiting in our room. A wonderful experience. I'd recommend staying here if you're in Temuco.

For $75 a night, the price and location make this a very good deal. The room was spacious and clean, and the welcome bottle of water in the fridge and tea kettle were nice touches. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but there were lots of options, and the servers were all polite and friendly. Remember to bring your PDI paper from immigration to enjoy VAT-free tax.

The place is new, so the rooms were nearly spotless, but they felt austere and cold, and weren't very comfortable. The bathroom was cramped and poorly laid out, though the shower was good. It's also a long drive from the Ruta 5 exit and entrance. The young man at reception was nice and accommodating, but he was overwhelmed as the only person on duty, with several people waiting through an incredibly bureaucratic check-in. Afterward, he had to send a bunch of PDFs with the WiFi service and password via WhatsApp. Who knows what happens if you don't have the app. The reception was so backed up that it took almost two hours for him to send the message. By then, I couldn't have cared less about the WiFi.
