Montepiedra Rio de Luna

Beautiful.

The river view was the one redeeming point, but I wouldn’t recommend this place. It’s a hostel, not a hotel, and there was a lot of noise from both neighboring rooms and the street. The room was damp, apparently when the shower was used. The room we saw while booking wasn’t the one we were given at check-in. Breakfast wasn’t varied, and you had to sign up for it because the space is very small. We’d reserved a parking space, but there wasn’t one. Moving the car from one spot to another was quite a challenge.

You can sit and eat with a lovely view of the river, and the welcome feels warm. The place is clean, the rooms are comfortable and not cold, though some outside noise carries in. Breakfast is delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive.

The walk to the bus terminal is easy, and we had a really pleasant stay. Our room 10 was quiet enough for us to rest, with clean, comfortable beds and spotless showers. The staff were friendly, the service was excellent, and breakfast came with simple basics plus delicious homemade pastries. It’s a boutique hotel, so I think expecting lots of space misses the idea. I’d rate it 9/10. Drinks were the one thing I found too expensive.
