The city views were great, and the staff were happy to help. The wood-fired hot tub and sauna came with wine and cheese, which was plenty for me. Just give them a heads-up if you want the tub, it takes about three hours to heat, but stayed perfect for two and a half.

The city and ocean view is lovely, and the staff are friendly. The wooden house does have some comfort drawbacks: floors creak loudly in the rooms and hallway, and sound carries between spaces. A sauna note for the staff from us Finns: more stones are needed on the stove for good "löyly." Metal door handles can get hot enough to burn your hand, and the sauna could use a proper bucket and ladle for "löylyvesi."

The terrace looks out over both the city and sea, and the hot tub is another lovely spot to take in Valparaiso.

The staff were really friendly, and I enjoyed the breakfast. The pool isn't heated, but it's still nice when the weather is hot. The Nordic baths are included, and especially lovely at night. Just be aware the hotel is a little removed from the restaurants.
