For a visit to Valparaiso, the location works really well: the town center, museums, and historic sites are all within walking distance. The rooms are simple but have what you need, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I’d go for a room with a hot tub.

We had our own terrace and hot tub, which I highly recommend. The shared space was pleasant, and breakfast there was very good, though the choices were limited. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The hotel sits above a ravine in the very cool Cerro Alegre area. It’s clean and comfortable, if not fancy, much like Valpo itself.

We stayed in the room with the outdoor hot tub, and really liked it. The hotel is a very nice little place in a great part of Valparaiso. Breakfast was nice, though it wasn’t especially typical.

Valporaiso can get crowded with tourists, so having a private hot tub to retreat to at the hotel was a treat. Hotel Cirilo Armstrong has the feel of a really cool Spanish apartment, and the breakfast was great. The staff were kind, and the front desk spoke very good English. They were especially helpful when I needed a taxi that would take a credit card. I’d absolutely stay here again and can’t recommend the hotel or its hot tubs enough.

The concierge was great, and the rooms were comfortable for a decent price. Restaurants and bars in the popular Cerro Alegre and Concepcion neighborhoods are easy to reach on foot.
