The breakfast was insanely good: a lovely buffet with fresh juices, coffee, yogurt, fruit, fantastic bread, three kinds of kuchen, and eggs cooked to order. The staff were outstanding, all so friendly and helpful. We’d booked an Airbnb that wasn’t acceptable, so we were delighted to find this hotel. We stayed in the motel section, in a spacious, private, quiet room with lots of storage, a mini-fridge, and a good bathroom. The 70-year-old hotel is charming, with some rooms upstairs and newer ones in the motel part. It’s set well back from a quiet street, with plenty of secure parking and a volcano view. The boardwalk is a one-minute walk away, and town and restaurants are three minutes away. The location couldn’t be better. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

Breakfast was great, and the place felt warm, cozy, and quiet. The rooms are on the small side, though, the doors could use improvement, and the sheets weren’t changed every day.

Sonia at reception was kind and made things right after I was given a motel room, even though I’d booked one of the nicer rooms. The website was misleading, and this felt more like a hotel and motel together than a proper hotel.
