Our room had a great view of the volcano, and the hostel includes breakfast and parking. Free wifi was reasonably fast, enough to post photos and check email. The building uses a lot of wood, so we could hear people moving around. There weren't any power points in the rooms or common areas, so charging phones or other electronics wasn't possible.
The view of Villarrica volcano is incredible, and breakfast was both delicious and generous. The shared kitchen is well equipped for all kinds of cooking, and the place feels comfortable and welcoming. Our room was very cozy. The only small issue was the bathroom smell, since a vent comes on with the light.
The service is fine for a night or two. Breakfast is served at a set time, there's a shared kitchen, and the hot showers are good. The beds are very old and a bit uncomfortable. I got a room with a sloping ceiling and had to duck from side to side, which was tiring for both me and my tall partner.
El dueño was super kind, and there's tourist information at the place. Prices are affordable, and it feels really welcoming. Breakfast is included, white bread, jam, yogurt, oats, fruit, tea, coffee, and juice, served in a romantic, cozy dining room. There's also a kitchen guests can use, with a big table for sharing with other travelers. In winter it stays heated, so you don't get cold. The only issue was that the mattress I got was very worn, though I'm sure not all of them are.
It's been two years since I traveled to Villarrica, and I still have great memories of this hostel. I was very happy with my stay. The location is excellent, close to a market, the town center, tour companies, and the bus terminal. The room and bathrooms were clean, and breakfast was very good.
